Remittances in many countries, exceed traditional income streams such as international aid and foreign direct investment. DMA produces comparative remittance information for migrants - a key objective within remittances from the World Bank and the G8 Group of governments.

The underlying principle behind DMA's work on remittances is to produce information on money transfer products that is transparent and understandable to those sending and receiving funds. This is achieved by the publishing of information for Diaspora groups in which the costs of sending money from one country to another are listed in order of how much money is received in the recipient country.

The remittances market is seeing unparalleled interest from both the private and public sectors. DMA’s specialist remittances consulting arm (DMA-C), uses the team’s 15 years in-depth, hands-on experience in remittances to provide a wide range of services. These include market analysis, new product development, strategic planning, project design and programme implementation for the private sector. Programme development, market data analysis and interpretation, mystery shopping and advisory services for the public sector.
